Tips You Can Use To Color Coordinate Your Suit

By Victor Santerino

I think we can all agree that there are times when a man should and must wear a suit. Unfortunately many men wear their suits carelessly and make no effort to color coordinate them.

This article will go through some of the basics of color coordinating formal and work wear. Read further to find out what colors work best with each other.

Coordinating colors can be done by matching the colors to themselves, to similar colors, and to different colors of the same shade. The following paragraphs will give you a better idea of what I mean by this.

Matching colors exactly is a simple task, but some rules should be applied. Do not match the color of the shirt exactly with the color of the jacket. Do match the color of the tie with the color of the pocket square.

The same color can be matched up to its lighter or darker version. This can be demonstrated by wearing a navy blue suit jacket with a light blue button up shirt.

Colors can also be matched in different shades to add a nice interesting look to an otherwise boring outfit. For instance you could wear a light brown shirt with a yellow tie which would act as a great focal point.

Mixing the three ways of color coordinating outfits can be a really fun experience. Try wearing a charcoal gray suit jacket with a light gray shirt and a white pocket handkerchief to complete the trifecta.

These killer combinations should have you looking fantastic the next time you wear your suit. Use these tips when dressing for any event and your sure to get many compliments on your style. - 16955
