Instantly Blog News Stories

By Ian Pelham

Blogging news stories as they unfold is one of the most exciting and controversial applications of technology that bloggers have discovered. One thing that makes the blogosphere so active is the fact that it is possible to update a blog instantaneously, so the news on blogs tends to be more current than the news in the paper, or on television.

Unlike other news sources, blogs dont have to pass through editors and administers before the public can see it. There are advantages and disadvantages to blogging news.

One example where blogs hit the media before the press took place during the bombing of a London subway in July 2005.

There was an explosion and, as passengers were getting out of the subway, one guy took several photos and uploaded them online. The first-person stories of the even showed up on blogs and there were those all over the world reading the exact words of the bloggers and survivors.

The crisis felt really immediate to those who were reading it without the eyes of an editor on these raw pieces. The blogging was very personal to those who were reading it.

This has the potential to be the beginning of an exciting new era of reporting, one that takes "New Journalism" to it's logical next step by putting the power to shape how the news is written and read directly into the hands of the public.

Many in the blogging world as well as cultural commentators in the blogging movement believe that this is a good trend and one that makes the dissemination of information a democratic process.

By decentralizing the control of news, blogs allow more voices to enter the field of debate about important current events. However, many people are adamantly opposed to the use of blogs as news outlets, and there are plenty of good arguments on this side of the debate.

There arent any fact checkers in the world of blogs and there is no journalistic accountability. This could lead to the spread of bad information. More than one piece of misinformation has been spread through this fashion.

The questions about whether blogging news as it happens is ethical or not are very complicated, but no matter where you stand on the topic of current events blogs you are almost sure to agree that this movement has the potential to revolutionize how modern people get their news.

Those who are interested in blogging will find that debt, consolidation and other financial topics are being blogged about. Techniques designed to help you make and manage your money are among the most popular topics for bloggers.

Falling into debt is a problem for many so that bloggers, sympathetic to the issue, are blogging about what they think on the topic and can give you ways you can share in the wealth or learn from the problems they experienced.

If youd like to blog about debt, savings, investment topics and consolidation issues, you have good reasons to have a successful blog on these topics. There are professional bloggers who earn money writing about money issues on blogs.

If you find that youre knowledgeable on negotiating settings with credit card companies, loan consolidation and other money issues, share that knowledge in a worthwhile blog.

When you share what you know, you may be able to aid your readers in the process of getting out of debt while you make money from selling advertising space. - 16955
