Brad Paisley has a way of winning thousands of hearts, whether you are into country music or not, you are likely to enjoy one of his performances. Paisley not only keeps up with modern country, but also has a magical way of tying in the old school country. He is not just a singer, but a guitarist as well. The combination of a sexually luring voice, and magically strummed guitar, is a once in a lifetime experience.
Warren Jarvis, Paisley's grandfather, was responsible for giving Brad his first guitar. Surely he was surprised with his grandson when he immediately learned how to maneuver the musical instrument. By the time Paisley had reached the age of 12, he had written his first song.
By the young age of 13, Brad was not out playing with all of the neighborhood boys. Instead, he was performing, as an opening act, for infamous musicians like Ricky Skaggs, The Judd's, and even George Jones. Brad was surrounded by artists and, naturally, absorbed the best traits from each of them.
Paisleys first number one hit was a song called "He Didn't Have to Be", which also happened to be the starting point of his career. The story, behind this song, is what made the song so special and real. "He Didn't Have to Be" was based on the story of Kelley Lovelace (Brad's friend and song writer partner) and his stepson. Kelley was more than a father, to his boy, and this stood out in Brad's eyes, enough to write a song about it.
Nearly everyone has seen, or at least heard of, Disney's movie - "Cars". The adventure, that takes place throughout the movie, is surrounded around Route 66. Brad Paisley had the opportunity to be a part of this movie with his contribution of two songs, specifically recognizing Route 66: Main Street America.
Paisley's most recent tour began in January of 2009 and is scheduled to end in March of 2009. He is performing a mixture of old and new songs, which include songs from his most recent album - "Play". One of the songs, from this album, "Throttleneck", won him his very first Grammy award: Best Country Instrumental Performance.
Brad's personal life is no different that his career, it's actually very tightly inter-mingled. After being ditched at "Father of the Bride" part II, Paisley decided exactly what type of girl he wanted to marry, one like Kimberly Williams - star of "Father of the Bride" and "Father of the Bride II".
He knew he would have to do something original in order to meet her. That's exactly what he did, something original. He produced a video that was to be used as, not only an introduction of him, but also as the worlds' best pick up line. Whatever he did worked, Kimberly and Brad are happily married and expecting another baby.
Every song, that Paisley sings, is a story from his life - whether him specifically, or someone he knows - it is reality. Rather than filling people's heads with fantasy, Paisley has a magical way of making reality sound nothing short of beautiful and mystical. Throughout his career, has been awarded, and accepted, many awards. This is no; however, what has made him who he is today. It is his charisma, honestly, and love for life that touches so many people, still today.
Since his tour is short, this year, time is limited. When the opportunity arises, to see Paisley live, do not let it pass you by. Witnessing a solid mix of old and new country - along with the heart and soul that comes with it - is not something worth missing. - 16955
