Do it Yourself Pool Solar Heaters Plan

By Benjamin Robert Ehinger

Are you interested in heating your pool and you want to do it for a good price? Do you want to extend your swimming season and you want it to be done in a very environmentally safe and friendly way? There is a way to build your own pool solar heaters and they are actually very inexpensive and easy to put together.

You will be able to save a nice sum of money and you will have your own pride of doing it yourself. It is not hard to do and it will do the same or better job than a heater you would buy. Here is what you need to know about putting together your solar pool heater.

Start by getting about 100 to 150 feed of black tubing that is about a half inch around. You also need to pick up 10 to 15 feet of pvc pipe that is the right size to fit into the end of this black tubing. Get yourself a shut off valve that can be attached to the pvc pipe as well.

You need to get a pump as well. This will be how you get the water from the pool into the tubing and back into the pool at a higher temperature. You want a pump that is strong enough to move the water out of the pool and through the tubing, but nice and slow. This will allow it to heat up more.

Next, you need to get a few two by fours and some brackets to hold them in place. The idea is to attach the black tubing to the two by fours by running it back and forth through them. You have to do this without kinking the tubing, but you want it to be nice and long.

This is where the water will get to get very hot so you want to mount this part of the heater in direct sunlight. You can put it on a rooftop, a shed, garage, or anywhere else that it will be able to get really hot. Then, when you pump the water through slowly the sun will heat the tubes and the water to help raise your pool temperature.

Last, you will run the PVC piping from each end of the black tubing into the pool. The pump with go on one end of your PVC piping and the shut off valve on the other end. When you turn the pump on it will suck water out of your pool at a slow speed and pump it up and through your black tubing, very slowly.

When the water leaves the pool and is sent up through the black tubing nice and slow it will be heated to a nice hot temperature. Then, it will return to the pool and help you get the desired temperature you want for your pool day. This will also increase your swimming season and all with pool solar heaters. - 16955
