Like many of lifes extraordinary innovations, the model train was found in a uncomplicated way. The discoverer was a chap by the name of Josh Lionel Cowen. You reckoned it, the name of the renowned Lionel Trains. It was nothing particular simply a very uncomplicated half train car that he motorized. Thats all it required to start a passion for the avid train lovers by way of becoming collectors.

The model train business is not a small industry by whatever means. It is very favorited throughout America, Australia and Europe as well. It cannot be forgot that at the time of Joshs invention, not all home even had electricity. The first electric trains as they were promoted , were in truth battery operated. In comparison to what we call model trains today, the originals were very much larger by comparison.

By 1915, electricity had became a average commodity in most home. This signified that now the model trains could be powered by this source. There we have it.
