It Is Time To Do something New: Rafting In Nova Scotia

By Isaac Lorel

White water rafting in Nova Scotia is a different concept than that in the United States. Tidal waves create the white water when the river comes to a narrow section. The force of water which travels through the narrowing in the river can create white water waves that will reach up to 16 feet high.

Rafting just doesn't get much better than in Nova Scotia. If you can manage to manoeuvre yourself on top of Nova Scotia tidal waves the amount of exhilaration you can feel is unimaginable. From the time you start rafting to the time you have finished sometimes the river water level can rise an additional 30 feet!

This can provide some exciting moments when those white water waves are at their highest. Many of these white water trips are for the more experienced rafter and can be dangerous for children and novice rafters.

Finding the Right Rapid for You

It goes without saying that there are going to be a range of different rapids that requires less or more experience. Some will be okay for most beginners whereas others will not.

There are multiple packages available at travel agencies aimed at different levels of experience and those that include children are automatically set up to provide safe rivers for them.

If you are over the age of 12 you will also find a number of packages for the more aggressive rapids as well. With these packages you will still get a fantastic scenic view, however the focus is on non-stop adrenaline pumping rafting.

Even if you are a highly experienced rafter, Nova Scotia can truly show you something more in rafting that you may have not thought existed. There is no doubt that even a top rafter will find some of the tidal waves in Nova Scotia to be challenging and extremely enjoyable.

If you enjoy nature and outdoor sports taking a visit to Nova Scotia really should be a no-brainer. For one Nova Scotia's rivers provide something new for rafting and also Nova Scotia has beautiful countryside and will provide a beautiful place to be at one with nature. - 16955
